Expanding Again

For the past week, we have been expanding again. This time the reason for the expansion is for a special tool (it is hidden the black plastic). We brought in 5 tons of sand to level the spot, which we moved from the pile by hand with shovels. I don’t recommend doing it this way, but we did not have access to a front end loader. Then we put up the forms, and laid out the rebar. On the day the concrete arrived, I was by myself to spread, level, float, and finish it. I absolutely do not recommend anyone do that - I know I won’t do it alone again. That concrete got watered down with my sweat!

This 270 square foot add-on was built onto the back of our main building. We salvaged a metal carport from the storms a few weeks ago and used it for the addition, adding new sheet metal and extra bracing. Now, all that is left to do is put a back on to complete the enclosure, and add the trim. Most all of this work was done while waiting for epoxy to dry on the Tiki 38 build.

What is under the black plastic you ask? Well, that is a secret, for now!
